Biography

Outlook: Returns as the starting first baseman this season for the Tribe. Has tremendous power potential from the left side of the plate and can deposit a ball over the fence at any given time.

At Southeast: started in 52 of 54 games he played in... batted .235 with four home runs and 34 RBI[apos]s... came alive the last three weeks of the season as he hit his first career grand slam at Morehead State and hit .333 in the regional tournament with two home runs and a team-leading five RBI[apos]s.

Personal: A 2000 product of Duchesne High School...pitched and played third base for coach Pat Stegall...three-time first team All-Conference selection and two-time St. Louis Post-Dispatch All-Metro pick...named to Top-25 Athletes in St. Louis list...also played hockey, soccer and basketball...three years on Honor Roll...born 9.17.81 to Ken and Pat Hoffman...undecided on a major...chose Southeast because of its excellent baseball reputation and good academics...recruited by Missouri, Kansas and South Florida.
