CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Southeast Missouri baseball has announced the hiring of new assistant coach Tommy Gleason for the 2023-24 season, the program announced Tuesday afternoon. 
 
Coach Gleason comes to the Redhawks program after spending last season as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Southeastern Community College where the Blackhawks made it to the National Junior College Athletic Association Championship game where they finished runner-up. 

Prior to the role, Coach Gleason coached at Augustana University from 2019-2021. There he was integral in working with the hitters and catchers, coaching two All-Americans and several all-conference selections as the Vikings led the NSIC (Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) in multiple offensive categories. 
 
Coach Gleason played for and attended Division-III Luther College where he was a part of a NCAA tournament appearance and the most wins in a single season in school history. 
 
Gleason is originally from Minnetonka, Minnesota.
