Ed Arnzen brought Southeast Missouri’s women’s basketball program to national prominence during the NCAA Division II era, leading the then-Otahkians to eight NCAA Tournament appearances which culminated in a runner-up finish in 1990-91, the final year of SEMO’s Division II tenure. Arnzen spent 19 years as head coach accumulating a 340-202 career. He was named MIAA Coach of the Year in 1986, 1987 and 1991, and Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year in 1998-99. Arnzen’s teams won MIAA titles in 1986-87 and 1990-91 and finished second a total of six times. His 1986-87 team was inducted into the SEMO Athletics Hall of Fame.
