Kaverman Announces Internal Personnel Changes

Aug. 23, 2002

Cape Girardeau, Mo. (August 23, 2002) - Don Kaverman, director of athletics at Southeast Missouri State University, has announced several internal personnel changes.

Cindy Gannon has been named Senior Woman Administrator at Southeast replacing Lana Richmond who will devote more time to her duties as softball coach. Gail DiPrete has been named associate head athletic trainer and Eric Foote has resigned his position as assistant athletic director for marketing and promotions to take a similar position at Pepperdine University in California.

"Coach Richmond came to me about a month ago and indicated she wanted to relinquish many of her administrative duties to devote more time to the softball team," Kaverman said. "I asked Coach Gannon to assume the title of Senior Woman Administrator and she agreed. Richmond will continue to serve as an assistant to the athletics director with primary responsibilities in event management."

Kaverman indicated DiPrete's promotion more adequately described the duties she has already assumed. "Gail has done an excellent job in working with our head trainer Lance McNamara and has been assuming more administrative duties. She will also head up some new initiatives in our sports medicine program."

Foote has been head of marketing and promotions for the past two years at Southeast and has served as an assistant athletic director the last year. "Eric has done an excellent job in creating new revenue sources for athletics," Kaverman said. "WE will conduct a national search for a new director of marketing."
